What Dinosaurs are Normally Featured in Dinosaurs Books

Dinosaurs have long been the subject of books, TV shows, and movies, and fascinated people all around the world with their power, size, and diversity. Dinosaurs were the subject of many famous dinosaur books in the 20th and 21st century, some of which have been made into popular movies. Perhaps the most famous of these is Jurassic Park, although some others you may have heard of include Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's 1912 book The Lost World and numerous kids books such as Harry and his Bucket Full of Dinosaurs. Dinosaurs are well known for their diversity, with over 500 dinosaur genera already identified and the total number of genera preserved in the fossil record estimated at around 1850.

However, there are a handful of dinosaurs that have become much more popular than others, and these are the creatures that inhabit the imaginations of kids and the young at heart all over the world. Probably the most famous dinosaur that have been depicted in movies and books during the last few decades is the Tyrannosaurus rex, although others have also captured the collective imagination of kids around the world. Dinosaurs are often split up into different groups, including bird footed dinosaurs, horned dinosaurs, small meat eaters, large meat eaters, boneheads, armoured, ostrich, horned, plated, and duck billed.

Normally, the fierce meat eaters and the large plant eaters are those that get the most attention, due to their shear size and the ability of writers and film makers to put them in exciting plot scenarios. Dinosaurs are loved by kids around the world, and also by teenagers and adults as well. Some of the most famous adult books that feature dinosaurs include Charles Dickens' Bleak House, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's 1912 book The Lost World, and the best selling 1990 novel Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton. Along with their use in books during the last few years, dinosaurs have also been widely used in TV shows and movies, including numerous kids TV shows during the last 20 years.
